Financial Literacy Initiative

CFA Society Boston is proud to partner with local non-profit organizations like Big Sister, Boys and Girls Club, Every Child Shines, the Wily Network, and more in our Financial Literacy Initiative. For the past decade volunteers have developed and distributed non-biased education into the community through the society’s Financial Literacy initiative.  This community outreach program has helped 1000s of individuals, from middle school through retirement, expand their financial toolbox with the ultimate goal of closing the wealth gap and creating a future generation of sound financial decision makers.  Society members have the opportunity to participate as a volunteer with these organizations and more.

Inclusive Internships

In 2022 CFA Society Boston partnered with UNCF Lighted Pathways Program. The UNCF program aims to create a career pathway to attract, develop, and retain Black talent for the asset management industry.  These students bring a diverse range of perspectives and experiences to our community and our profession is better and stronger because of this partnership.

The society founded our Women in Investment Management Internship Program for Undergraduate Students in 2018. Each year member firms partner with the society to pool resources and make CFA Society Boston a centralized platform to strengthen messaging, increase employee diversity, cast a wider net, and attract a larger audience of young, talented women. In 2024 we partnered with 9 firms and 18 universities to place exceptional candidates into exceptional internship programs. In 2025 we look to expand the initiative event further! If you are interested in partnering with us please submit your information.

Mentor Match Program

The Mentor Match Program offers a unique opportunity for less-experienced CFA Society Boston members to connect with and learn from seasoned industry professionals. Our online networking and career development tool allows mentees and mentors to connect based on shared criteria. This system is easy to navigate and provides participants with the tools needed to cultivate a meaningful and productive mentor relationship. The Mentor Match program will formally run from November 1st to June 30th of each year, but it is never too early to sign up to serve the next generation of charterholders.
