CFA SOCIETY BOSTON ANNOUNCES 2019—2020 BOARD OFFICERS AND NEW DIRECTORS
Michael G. Trotsky, CFA, Elected Board Chair

BOSTON – July 1, 2019 – CFA Society Boston is pleased to announce its newly elected board officers and directors for the 2019-2020 fiscal year.

Michael G. Trotsky, CFA, was elected to the position of chair. Mr. Trotsky, is the executive director and chief investment officer of the Massachusetts Pension Reserves Investment Management (“PRIM”) Board, the entity responsible for investing the $73.8 billion Massachusetts pension fund, which contains the assets of the Massachusetts Teachers’ and State Employees’ Retirement Systems as well as the assets of approximately 100 participating municipal and county retirement systems. Mr. Trotsky’s work at PRIM was preceded by a 25-year career in the private sector, most recently as senior vice president and portfolio manager at PAR Capital Management, a Boston-based absolute return strategy fund. Previously, he was a senior analyst at Greenberg-Summit Partners in Boston and also served as a principal and senior vice president at Independence Investment Associates (a John Hancock subsidiary), also in Boston. Mr. Trotsky began his professional career in 1985 as an engineer at Intel Corporation in California. Mr. Trotsky is a member of the Boston Economics Club, and previously served as a member of the CFA Institute Board of Governors and as chair of the CFA Institute’s Asset Manager Code of Professional Conduct Advisory Committee. He received a BS in electrical engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

The following CFA Society Boston members have been elected to serve on the board’s executive committee. Susan E. Farris, CFA, new vice chair, is a senior relationship manager with CIBC Private Wealth Management. She joined CFA Society Boston in 2007 and became a board member in 2014. Brent Bell, CFA, FRM, has been elected as secretary. Mr. Bell is vice president of State Street Global Advisors, is a member of SSGA's Investment Solutions Group (ISG) and has been a CFA Society Boston board member since 2015. Heather M. Young, CFA, elected to the position of treasurer, is a strategist for the bank loan team at Loomis, Sayles & Company. Rounding out the new slate of CFA Society Boston officers is Lisa L. Chioffi, CFA, Chair, Education and Programs. Ms. Chioffi manages investment portfolios for individuals, families, trusts, and charitable institutions at Reynders McVeigh Capital Management.

Three members have been elected as new board directors. They are Keon T. Holmes, CFA, managing director in Cambridge Associates’ Boston office, Asha Mehta, CFA, senior vice president, director, portfolio manager at Acadian Asset Management, and Andrew Z.
