CFA SOCIETY BOSTON ANNOUNCES 2021—2022 BOARD OFFICERS AND NEW DIRECTORS
Brent Bell, CFA, FRM, Elected Board Chair

BOSTON – July 1, 2021 – CFA Society Boston is pleased to announce its newly elected board officers and directors for the 2021-2022 fiscal year.

Brent Bell, CFA, FRM, was elected to the position of chair. Mr. Bell is a vice president of State Street Global Advisors and a member of SSGA's Investment Solutions Group (ISG). He is responsible for the development and implementation of asset allocation solutions, including Liability Driven Investment and tactical asset allocation strategies. Before joining the ISG team, Mr. Bell was a member of SSGA's Consultant Relations group. Mr. Bell joined SSGA in 2003. Prior to SSGA, he spent four years at Teradyne, Inc., a semiconductor capital equipment manufacturer, where he was responsible for inventory forecasting and materials planning. Mr. Bell received his MBA from Babson College and holds BS degrees in both Finance and Operations & Strategic Management from Boston College. He has earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a Certified Financial Risk Manager. Mr. Bell is a member of the CFA Society Boston, the CFA Institute and the Global Association of Risk Professionals. 

The following CFA Society Boston members have been elected to serve on the board’s executive committee. Heather M. Young, CFA, new vice chair, is a vice president and portfolio manager at Loomis, Sayles & Company for the bank loan team. Ms. Young is responsible for co-managing all products and strategies on the Bank Loan Team. In addition to portfolio management, she also builds and implements proprietary risk modeling tools for the bank loan portfolios and spearheads new product creation and development for her team. Asha Mehta, CFA, has been elected Secretary, where she will oversee the membership engagement and development for the society. Ms. Mehta is managing partner and CIO at Global Delta Capital. Sarah N. Samuels, CFA, CAIA, was elected to the position of treasurer. Ms. Samuels is partner at NEPC, where she oversees the firm’s traditional manager research. Rounding out the new slate of CFA Society Boston officers is Peter A. Sullivan, CFA, CPA, Chair, Education and Programs. Mr. Sullivan recently retired from Liberty Mutual, where he was senior vice president for Liberty Mutual Investments. 

Three members have been elected as new board directors. They are Allysen Mattison, CFA, director of investment risk at Income Research + Management.; Kenechukwu Anadu, CFA, CAIA, assistant vice president at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston’s Supervisory Research and Analysis Unit.; and Bill C. Li, CFA, CAIA, director of portfolio completion strategies at Massachusetts Pension Reserves Investment Management (“PRIM”) Board.
