CFA SOCIETY BOSTON ANNOUNCES 2020—2021 BOARD OFFICERS AND NEW DIRECTORS
Susan E. Farris, CFA, Elected Board Chair

BOSTON – July 6, 2020 – CFA Society Boston is pleased to announce its newly elected board officers and directors for the 2020-2021 fiscal year.

Susan E. Farris, CFA, was elected to the position of chair. Ms. Farris is a managing director and senior relationship manager for CIBC Private Wealth Management, where she where she works closely with families to design thoughtful investment solutions that integrate philanthropic, estate, and tax planning goals. Prior to joining CIBC, Ms. Farris was a managing director for Windhaven Investment Management. Ms. Farris started her wealth management career with Goldman Sachs, where she spent over nine years in the private wealth management division in Zurich, Switzerland and Miami. She began her career as a fixed income strategist with UBS in Zurich and London. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in economics from Cornell University; her MBA from the Anderson School of Management at UCLA; and is a CFA Charterholder. Ms. Farris is active in CFA Society Boston’s Diversity & Inclusion initiative and is a financial literacy volunteer. She is also a member of the Boston Economics Club, the Boston Estate Planning Council, and serves on the President’s Council of Cornell Women, and also on the board of the Rebecca Pomroy Foundation. 

The following CFA Society Boston members have been elected to serve on the board’s executive committee. Brent Bell, CFA, FRM, new vice chair, is a vice president at State Street Global Advisors, and is a member of SSGA's Investment Solutions Group (ISG). Mr. Bell has been a CFA Society Boston board member since 2015, and prior to that was an instructor in the society’s CFA candidate prep program. Peter A. Sullivan, CFA, CPA, has been elected Secretary, where he will oversee the membership engagement and development for the society. Mr. Sullivan recently retired from Liberty Mutual, where he was senior vice president for Liberty Mutual Investments. Sarah N. Samuels, CFA, CAIA, was elected to the position of treasurer. Ms. Samuels is Partner at NEPC, where she oversees the firm’s traditional manager research. Rounding out the new slate of CFA Society Boston officers is Heather M. Young, CFA, Chair, Education and Programs. Ms. Young is a vice president | portfolio manager on all strategies run by the bank loan team at Loomis Sayles & Company. 

Four members have been elected as new board directors. They are Jennifer DeSisto, CFA, CAIA, chief investment officer at Anchor Capital Advisors; P. Brian Enyeart, CFA, president, Strategic Advisers at Fidelity Investments; Patrick C. Gregory, CFA, managing director, Cutler Center for Investments and Finance at Babson College; and William D.
