  • Connect:  Building networks and connecting with other candidates and investment industry professionals is essential to our members, and this online community platform allows members to do so virtually.

  • Community Discussion: Connect allows members to join communities to have open dialogue on topics of interest.
  • Mentor Match ProgramThe new Mentor Match Program leverages the vast experience of the CFA Society Boston membership to promote skills development, leadership, and professional growth through the exchange of ideas and sharing of information between the Mentor and Mentee. Student members of the society are eligible to enroll in the mentorship program.
  • Volunteer Opportunities: Members in good standing can volunteer for committees, task forces, micro opportunities and quick tasks. Of special interest to our Student members, you can join the Emerging Leaders Committee and volunteer for many of our micro opportunities and quick tasks.

Student Membership Requirements

Student membership with CFA Society Boston provides useful access to the CFA Society Boston Job Board and the online membership directory.  It also allows for visibility among industry groups at CFA Society Boston programs as well as valuable networking opportunities at member events. Thank you for your interest in becoming a Student Member of CFA Society Boston. Please review the following requirements to complete your Student application.

Requirements include:

  • Be an undergraduate student, enrolled full-time, pursuing a bachelor's degree in business or finance, or related field, OR
  • Be a graduate student, enrolled full or part-time, pursuing an MBA or a master's degree in a business-related major
  • Complete the Student Membership Application form and submit with your most recent resume. 
  • Submit one signed Sponsor form by a Charterholder member, Professional member, or Professor of Finance, Business, or Economics  

Please note:

  • Student Membership is available only to individuals who do not otherwise qualify for Charterholder, Professional, Affiliate or Candidate Membership.  
  • Student Membership cannot extend for a period that exceeds four fiscal years or any part thereof. Also, in order to renew Student Membership, you must complete the Student Membership Renewal Application each year you wish to be a member. 

Sponsor Forms:

  • Submit one signed Sponsor form by a Charterholder member, Professional member, or Professor of Finance, Business, or Economics. 

Sponsor names will be submitted as part of the application process. Please have your sponsor names and contact information prepared prior to starting the application process. 

Student Membership is complimentary for each year you remain eligible. The CFA Society Boston Board will typically review applications during the first seven days of the month.  Approved Applicants will receive an email during the second week of the month. Once the CFA Society Boston Board has approved your application for Student Membership, you will receive a new member welcome email.
