This discussion will explore the latest developments shaping the ETF landscape—from new structures and strategies such as active management, thematics, and alternatives, to the technological and distribution innovations fueling growth. We’ll also examine the risks and concerns investors and advisors should be mindful of, including liquidity, transparency, and market concentration.

David Cohne
David Cohne has over 25 years of experience covering mutual funds, ETFs and active managers. He currently leads mutual fund and active manager research at Bloomberg Intelligence, the research department of Bloomberg. In his role, he writes research notes about mutual funds, ETFs and the active management landscape. He also hosts the Inside Active podcast, a Bloomberg podcast featuring interviews with active fund managers.
He is the author of Investing for Beginnings, a book which serves as an introductory guide for new investors. Before joining Bloomberg, David served as a consultant for fund firms, a Director of Fund and ETF Research at an investment consulting firm and a member of the portfolio team at a boutique RIA. David holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Brandeis University and an MBA from the WP Carey School of Business at Arizona State University.

Deborah Fuhr
Deborah Fuhr is the managing partner of ETFGI, a leading independent research, event, and consultancy firm in the global ETF and Exchange Traded Products (ETP) industries, which she founded in 2012. She is also the editorial director, producer, and presenter at ETF TV, a show providing monthly insights into the ETF and ETP markets, co-founded in June 2019.
Previously, Ms. Fuhr was the Global Head of ETF Research and Implementation Strategy at BlackRock, Inc. (2008-2011) and a managing director leading the Investment Strategies Group at Morgan Stanley (1997-2008). She began her career as an associate at Greenwich Associates.
Ms. Fuhr has served in various prestigious roles, including as an independent trustee of the Renaissance Capital Greenwich Funds and WEBs ETF Trust and the SYNTAX ETF TRUST. She was on the board of WisdomTree (May 2022 – August 2023) and was made a Fellow of CFA UK in January 2020.
Her numerous accolades include being named among the “100 Most Influential Women in Finance” by Financial News and receiving the ETF.com 2018 lifetime achievement award. She has also contributed to various financial publications and authored the appendix on International ETFs in the CFA Research Foundation book, “The Comprehensive Guide to ETFs.”
Ms. Fuhr is a co-founder and Board member of Women in ETFs Inc and of Women in ETFs Europe LTD and co-president of Women in ETF EMEA, a non-profit started in 2014 where she champions gender diversity and empowerment.
She holds a BS degree from the University of Connecticut and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Ben Fulton
Ben Fulton, a pioneer in the exchange-traded fund (ETF) industry, has significantly influenced the global financial services sector for over 30 years. Fulton's insights are regularly featured on CNBC and Bloomberg, and he is a sought-after keynote speaker at industry events. With a prolific career spanning over 25 years focused on ETFs, he has received nine ETF of the Year awards and numerous other accolades.
Ben's impressive career includes roles such as Managing Director of Tactical ETFs at ProShares, where he expanded the AUM of the Tactical ETF suite by $15B. At Invesco PowerShares, he served as Managing Director of Global ETFs, growing the firm into the world's fourth-largest ETF issuer with over $75B in assets. As President and founding partner of Claymore Securities, he oversaw the development of various product offerings. Before that, he was Managing Director of Structured Investment Products at Nuveen and Senior Vice President of Product Development at Nike Securities. Ben's financial consultancy experience includes positions at Thomson McKinnon Securities and The Bear Stearns Companies. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Taylor University.
