Meet Up: The LGBTQ Wealth Market--Understanding the Equality Economy
The LGBTQ community is believed to represent just over 4% of the total US population with estimated buying power topping $900 billion. BBoston ranks 5th out of the top ten metro markets with nearly 5% percent of the population self-identifying as LGBTQ. As this community grows, so does the number of investors who are members. Advisors hoping to serve LGBTQ investors need to understand their unique needs and their community. Join Jean Dunn, CFP® for a discussion of the financial and social aspects of the LGBTQ community. Based on proprietary T. Rowe Price research, she will share insights on connecting with this group, including steps advisors can take to meet the community's specific investment needs and financial goals such as proactively offering support and demonstrating an understand the cultural and legal ramifications of their lives. Key LGBTQ economic and demographic statistics, including incomes by region, will help advisors understand the size and location of the community. Dunn will also share advice on how to identify LGBTQ groups in your community and how best to authentically connect with them.
Jean Lynn Dunn, CFP® is a vice president of T. Rowe Price Associates, Inc. and Client Loyalty Insights leader in the US Intermediaries division. She creates thought leadership and provides consultative services with clients and prospects on financial services marketing, client loyalty and segmentation insights. She has also led several strategic marketing teams at the firm, developing strategic marketing plans, valued added programs for advisors, and communication programs for DC plan clients. Prior to joining the firm in 2004, she worked in the Third Party Sales & Marketing Department at American Century Investments. Jean earned a B.S. in political science from Truman State University. She is a Series 6, 7 and 63 registered representative and a Series 24 registered principal. She is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER.

information and guidance. For members inquiring about our plan for programs and events, please know that the health and safety of our members and attendees are top priorities. At this time, we don't plan on cancelling any of our scheduled events, but we urge all attendees to take proper precautions when participating, including hand washing and avoiding hand contact to the face. We will provide hygiene provisions at all events. We encourage attendees to forgo handshakes when greeting other participants.
If you would like to cancel your registration to an upcoming event, we will honor all refunds outside of our normal cancellation policy. We will continue working with our event venues and speakers to try and capture and broadcast as many of our programs as we can so members won't miss valuable content.
