What is Decentralized Finance (DeFi)? What are the fundamentals and how can DeFi shape the future of finance? Join CFA Society Boston on Thursday, February 10, 2022, from 12:00 - 1:00 PM, we will dive into the basics of DeFi with Mike Taormina who works in the crypto industry and has a traditional finance background having worked at JP Morgan before.

Speaker Bio
Mike Taormina
Mike is the Head of Institutional Business at the Index Cooperative, a decentralized community powering top crypto index funds. Prior to working in DeFi, Mike spent a decade working on fintech startups, most notably as the co-founder & CFO of CommonBond, a student loan refinancing platform. He was formerly a Vice President at J.P. Morgan Asset Management, working on the Private Bank Investment Strategy team and later on an opportunistic trading desk. Mike graduated with a B.S.B.A in Finance & International Business from Georgetown University and with an MBA from The Wharton School. He is a CFA Charterholder and lives in New York City.
