Join CFA Society Boston for our Career Chat highlighting Portfolio Management. This will be an interactive session for participants to learn about a career as a portfolio manager, and what skills and knowledge are essential to succeed.

Eric M. Rice, PhD
Managing Director, Head of Active Equities Impact Investing

Eric Rice, Managing Director, is Head of Active Equities Impact Investing. He works as a portfolio manager and is the architect of the world's first diversified public-markets impact investing strategy, Global Impact. Global Impact is an alpha-oriented strategy that invests in companies whose goods and services help address the world's great problems as defined by the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Eric also works with other investors at BlackRock to help germinate additional impact and sustainable investing strategies.

Eric joined BlackRock from Wellington Management in 2019, where he had been an investor for over 20 years. Previously, he worked as a World Bank country economist and a diplomat in Rwanda with the US Department of State.

Eric earned a PhD in economics from Harvard University and a AB degree in economics from the University of California at Berkeley. He lives in San Francisco, CA.

CFA Society Boston, like many organizations, is closely monitoring COVID-19. We have been staying up to date with the CDC and WHO information and guidance. For members inquiring about our plan for programs and events, please know that the health and safety of our members and attendees are top priorities. At this time, we don't plan on cancelling any of our scheduled events, but we urge all attendees to take proper precautions when participating, including hand washing and avoiding hand contact to the face. We will provide hygiene provisions at all events. We encourage attendees to forgo handshakes when greeting other participants. If you would like to cancel your registration to an upcoming event, we will honor all refunds outside of our normal cancellation policy. We will continue working with our event venues and speakers to try and capture and broadcast as many of our programs as we can so members won't miss valuable content.

In the event that we need to cancel a program, we will communicate this to our community as quickly as possible. If you have any questions, please contact CFA Society Boston .
