Join the CFA Society Boston on Thursday, April 13, 2023, for our Career Chat: Alternative Career Paths in Alternative Asset Management featuring Fernando Diaz, CFA, Vice President of Business Analytics and Credit at The RMR Group (Nasdaq: RMR), an alternative asset management company unique for its focus on commercial real estate. This will be an engaging discussion for participants to learn about the varied career paths within the alternative asset management industry with a focus on commercial real estate. Fernando will share insights from his experiences ranging from managing real estate equity securities to direct real estate ownership. We look forward to a lively Q+A and networking session for those who are interested in many career paths within alternative asset management and commercial real estate!

Speaker Bios
Fernando Diaz, CFA
Vice President of Business Analytics and Credit at The RMR Group
Mr. Diaz has over 20 years of experience in securities analysis, equity portfolio management, and real estate asset management. Currently, Fernando leads and manages RMR’s Business Analytics and Credit Risk teams which support the firm’s Acquisitions, Asset Management, and other functions responsible for owning and operating commercial real estate properties. Previously, Fernando was the portfolio manager for RMR’s closed-end equity real estate fund for nearly 15 years. Prior to joining RMR in 2007, Mr. Diaz was a senior REIT analyst and assistant portfolio manager with GID Securities, LLC and a senior REIT analyst and assistant portfolio manager with State Street Global Advisors/The Tuckerman Group. Mr. Diaz earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University and an MBA in Finance from Bentley University. Mr. Diaz holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Society Boston.

Passport Program 
Members of any CFA society may attend at the CFA Society Boston member rate. Please Use code PPW2022 for webinars for member pricing. If you are only a member of CFA Institute, you do not qualify for the Society member rate.

Registration 
Members can register by logging into their Boston specific account. Non-members and CFA Society Global members must create an account, or log into their Boston specific account, to register for this program. Confirmation details will be sent following registration. If you do not receive a confirmation email, please ensure you have completed the entire checkout process. 

Safety Protocols and Policies
The health and safety of our members and guests is important to CFA Society Boston. CFA Society Boston will follow local, national and CDC guidelines and will comply with all government regulations. We require that our attendees do the same.

For the safety of our members and guests CFA Society Boston requires all in-person event attendees to either be fully vaccinated, as defined by the CDC, OR test negative for COVID-19 no earlier than 48-24hours prior to the date and start time of the event.  

CFA Society Boston will not permit attendees that are openly displaying signs of illness to enter the event or remain at it. Guests should not attend if they are sick or have been sick within the day leading up to the event. Should an attendee test positive for COVID19 or feel ill on or before the event date the individual should contact the society immediately to cancel their registration.
