ESG Series: A Practitioner Panel on Incorporating Credit Impact of ESG Issues Using Moody's ESG Cross Sector Methodology

Description
To fully integrate ESG into decision making, investors, issuers, and markets need a more transparent, consistent, and quantified assessment of the credit impact of ESG issues. On April 26, 2021, Moody’s Investors Service published an updated ESG Cross Sector Methodology which included appendices for the assignment of ESG scores for non-financial corporates and local & regional governments.

During the course of 2021, Moody’s plans to publish scores for an increasing number of issuers and transactions across corporates, infrastructure, public finance and financial institutions.

How can investment professionals incorporate this new information into their analysis? Join CFA Society Boston for this complimentary webinar on June 22nd, 2021 from 12:00 - 1:30PM where a panel of CFA Society Boston practitioners will share their experiences with an initial set of reports incorporating this information.

After an overview by Swami Venkataraman, CFA, Senior Vice President, Moody’s Investors Service, our three practitioners will have an open conversation about their experience with the new reports, and the potential impact on integrating ESG considerations in their work.  They will also have the opportunity to pose questions and share feedback with Moody’s.  Our panel plans to:

1.    Examine how the scores enhance integration of ESG considerations into credit ratings
2.    Walk through case studies
3.    Discuss varying approaches to ESG integration in investment management
4.    Discuss data limitations and its implications for ESG analysis
