Meet Up: Enhancing Fundamental Research with Chart Patterns and Technical Analysis
featuring Michael Wasson, CFA
The increased volatility seen in markets over the past several years has left many fundamentally-oriented analysts looking for better forecasting tools. Technical analysis, on the other hand, has performed extremely well - accurately forecasting many major twists and turns. In this discussion, we explore the fundamentals of chart patterns and technical analysis and discuss ways they can augment fundamental research. We also present a case study demonstrating how basic techniques have been successful over the years in identifying important turning points for Apple common stock, often well in advance, and can be utilized to enhance returns, regardless of one's investment approach.
Michael Wasson, CFA is the founder of pebblewriter.com, a research service that forecasts markets for professional investors including hedge funds, mutual funds, investment advisors and HNW individuals.
