Description 
Digital assets have been under heavy research by asset owners, but so far very limited capital is deployed here by institutional allocators. The central question remains to be answered – is digital assets an investment asset class? We will use the occasion to talk recent developments in the institutional investor community.

Speakers

Shaun Martinak, CFFA, PM in Digital Assets, One River Asset Management
Shaun Martinak is a Research/Portfolio Manager for Digital Assets at One River Asset Management. Shaun also leads One River’s blockchain application development team. He is responsible for the creation and execution of digital asset investment products, blockchain applications and infrastructure, as well as contributing to research in the field. Prior to One River, Shaun was a managing director at British Columbia Investments, one of Canada's largest pension plans at ~$160B, where he built and ran the $1B direct/co-investment team focusing on idiosyncratic opportunities across public and private markets in credit, equity, and alternatives. Prior to BCI, Shaun worked for Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan running a $3B portfolio of systematic and discretionary liquid market trading strategies. He is also a former employee of D.E. Shaw & Co.
 
Shaun holds a B.S. in Engineering Mechanics and a B.A. in Mathematics and English Literature, both from Columbia University. He also holds an M.B.A. from NYU's Stern School of Business.
 
Dave White, CFA, Senior Director, Cambridge Associates 
Dave White is a Senior Investment Director in Cambridge Associates’ Boston office and has been with the firm since January 2014.  At CA, he works across a wide spectrum of clients spanning from universities to foundations to private families.  Clients’ assets under advisory range from $100 million to over $5 billion.  Dave has a strong working knowledge of the hedge fund, long-only, and private investment spaces.  Prior to joining C|A, David was responsible for manager research at a fund of funds in Palm Beach Gardens, FL.  Dave graduated from Duke University in 2011 with a B.S. in Economics, A.B. in History, and Certificate in Markets & Management Studies.

Brian Enyeart, CFA, President of Strategic Advisers, Fidelity Investments 
Brian Enyeart is president of Strategic Advisers LLC, a registered investment adviser and a Fidelity Investments company. Fidelity Investments is a leading provider of investment management, retirement planning, portfolio guidance, brokerage, benefits outsourcing, and other financial products and services to institutions, financial intermediaries, and individuals. Before joining Fidelity in 2006, Mr. Enyeart served as director of quantitative research at Citigroup Asset Management and worked with equity market models and software development at BARRA, Inc. He has been in the financial industry since 1994. Mr. Enyeart earned his bachelor of arts degree in political science and business from Vanderbilt University and his master of arts degree in finance from Golden Gate University. He is also a CFA® charterholder and on the board of directors for the CFA Institute Boston Chapter.

Bill Li, CFA, CAIA, Director of Portfolio Completion Strategies, Massachusetts Pension Reserves Investment Management, Moderator 
Bill C. Li is an Investment Director at Massachusetts Pension Reserves Investment Management Board (“MassPRIM”). Bill oversees investment activities for MassPRIM’s Hedge Fund portfolio and Real Asset portfolio; he also designed the pension fund’s innovative asset allocation framework. Previously, Bill held various positions at CoStar Group in Boston and at Allianz SE in Frankfurt, Germany. Bill holds the CFA designation and the CAIA designation; he also serves on the Board of CFA Society Boston. Bill holds an M.A. from Brandeis University and an M.S. from Cornell University.



Dulari Pa
ncholi, CFA, CAIA, Principal, Head of Credit and Multi-Asset Investments
Dulari’s investment career began in 2000 and she joined NEPC in 2006.  She is the Head of Credit and Multi-Asset Investment Group at NEPC. Dulari is also the Co-Head of NEPC’s Impact Investing Committee. As a research team leader, Dulari is a member of multiple investment committees and serves as the Co-Head of the Credit Beta Group. Dulari is 
also frequent speaker at industry conferences on the topic of Impact Investing.

Prior to joining NEPC in August of 2006, Dulari was Vice President of Operations of the Hedge Fund at Venus Capital Management.  Prior to that, Dulari was employed as a Research Associate at the Center for International Securities and Derivatives Market (CISDM).  As a Research Associate, Dulari’s responsibilities included understanding various databases, statistical models, software and analytical tools used for efficient financial analysis.  While at CISDM, Dulari authored and co-authored several research papers, one of which was published in the Journal of Alternative Investments in the Spring of 2004.

Dulari received her M.B.A. from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and holds L.L.B. and B.S. degrees from the University of Mumbai.  Dulari has attained both of the Chartered Financial Analyst and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst designations. She is also a member of the Boston Security Analysts Society. She has recently completed the Sustainable Finance program at Yale SOM Executive Education.
