Mac Ryerse is senior corporate governance analyst at Columbia Threadneedle Investments.* In this role he provides qualitative analysis and research on the environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) practices of domestic and global companies, engages senior management of portfolio companies on ESG and proxy voting issues, and monitors and advises on emerging corporate, investor and regulatory trends that bear on public company governance. He joined one of the Columbia Threadneedle Investments legacy firms in 2010.
Mr. Ryerse previously was Corporate Secretary and Chief Governance Officer at Potlatch Corporation (NASDAQ: PCH) prior to its spin-out IPO of Clearwater Paper (NYSE: CLW). At Potlatch Mr. Ryerse was also responsible for corporate strategic planning and stakeholder relations.
Mr. Ryerse holds an MBA from Bethel University, an MA in Organizational Development from Gonzaga University, a BA in Communications from Gustavus Adolphus College, and holds the FSA Level I certification from the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB). Mr. Ryerse presently serves on the MBA faculty at Bethel University where he teaches corporate finance.
